Paso del Norte Administrator celebrates 10-year anniversary with FSA
12/30/09
We congratulate Colleen Alexander on her ten-year anniversary with Foundation Surgery Affiliates.
Ms. Alexander is a veteran health care professional with over 30 years of experience who currently serves as Administrator and CEO of Paso del Norte Surgery Center in El Paso, TX. For the last ten years, she has led the growth efforts of the facility in the community, and today, she’s actively developing and implementing initiatives with her surgeon partners to meet and exceed the goals of the ASC.
“This is far beyond a job for me,” says Ms. Alexander. “This is a career.”
Surgeon partner Jose Diaz-Pagan, M.D. recalls his own recruitment process five years ago and the impact Colleen had on finalizing his decision to join the partnership. He asked her, “Are you retiring any time soon? If you’ll be here to oversee the business, then I want to be your partner.” Five years later, that relationship is still thriving.
Colleen reflects, “It has been phenomenal to see the relationships develop among the partners. Additionally, I’ve got to hand it to [FSA Board Chairman] Tom Michaud. He was unwavering in his commitment to growing this business and the Foundation family. He pushed and challenged us as administrators, and I’m so thankful for that today.”
Bradley T. Cardenas, CASC and National VP of ASC Operations says, “Colleen’s ten year tenure has proven that she is an exceptional administrator who has measurably improved the overall performance of the Paso del Norte Surgery Center. She possesses a rare and successful blend of leadership coupled with superior management and administrative abilities assuring her success in any setting. We at FSA look forward to working alongside Colleen for another ten years.”
FSA President Jon Friesen remarks, “Ten years is a terrific milestone for Colleen and for the FSA family. We congratulate her and thank her for her commitment and loyalty to the organization, to her physician partners, colleagues, and to the patients we serve.”
Looking back on the milestone and what it means for the future, Colleen adds, “This will further strengthen our reputation in the community as having a dedicated staff that is committed to delivering outstanding patient care.”
